Hardcore love

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
(Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭44‬ NKJV)

I’ve been having urges to pray some dangerous prayers for certain people for a few days now, I mean prayers close to the “fall down and die” theme *covers face*
I saw this scripture and was reminded again of the standard of love we Christians need to uphold.

Apart from the said love being like coals on your enemies heads ( Proverbs 25:22) you begin to feel compassion, the kind Jesus feels for us when we stray far from Him and His ways. You begin to understand what He meant in Luke 23:34

I have this theory that when people hurt you or act “evil” towards you, they can’t help it. Why you ask? It’s been established from the beginning of time that they would do that, they obviously had a choice not to but someone else would have to fulfil that ( case in point Judah, Peter)
Very weird theory eh?

So back again to the scripture, it says pray for those who spitefully use you, I read that and said “Ah Lord this is very hard o!” But the beauty of it is that you’re not doing it by yourself, The Lord gives grace, strength and power to achieve this somewhat Herculean task.
As He helps you, you begin to pray for that “slave master” of a boss, that energy sapping, soul snatching friend, that heart crushing, love stealing partner.
You start to rise above the depressing cloud or negative aura that descends when you think of them and just pour out a blessing on their lives.

There are days when this scripture doesn’t even cross your mind ( I mean it’s just a blur 🙂 ) but I challenge you as a child of God to meditate on it, ask the Holy Spirit to help and then find someone who you think doesn’t even deserve your time not to talk about your love and shower them with love, prayer and goodness.

I pray that as you do this, the One who heals every hurt, soothes every pain and restores every loss will reward you.

Have a lovely weekend and remember our smile is the code to crack someone’s joy bank.
*insert MI soundtrack* So the mission is : smile until you hear the click of their joy’s vault 😛
