Hey “enemy” , I love you!

Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬ NKJV)

Lord Jesus!! This scripture held me hostage and wouldn’t let go until I wrote about it. I woke up praying for someone my flesh wants me to heap some choice curse words on.
I asked God to take away the bitterness in my heart. This was because I had a weird dream and the said person was the main actor! Hehehehe

I poured out my heart to God over this person’s life. Oh I struggled, I so struggled as each word of blessing I pronounced went against everything in me, but I held on until the lump in my chest melted away at God’s feet. I am excited at the great and mighty things God will do in their life and God will take all the glory!

How soon do we let go when people hurt us? Am I saying immediately? Err if the grace upon your life is massive yes, but if you’re like me and you’re still growing it might take a while but slow and surely it will happen and I’m so happy as the Holy Spirit helps quicken this process.

My mantra about forgiveness is “If Jesus can forgive me then why can’t I forgive another” I’ve been called out on this and been told it’s not an excuse to accept people’s excesses but my response remains the same “I fall short as well, hurt people and cause pain yet still receive forgiveness so why shouldn’t I give someone a third, fourth even millionth chance?”

Forgiveness is a hard thing sha or at least for me 🙂
The beautiful thing about forgiveness is it is for you, what do you mean Timiebi? Yes, when you forgive someone, a burden is lifted, bitterness melts away and light replaces the darkness the person/situation usually brings.

True forgiveness is bliss, knowing you can say to your “enemy” ; “I love you and forgive you!” is the best feeling ever and I pray God helps us on this great quest.

A gallon of love+a dash of forgiveness+a heart full of thanks+daily dose of the word(the bible)+ a mouthful of smiles+your secret ingredient = a great life.
A great life is what God wants for us and I pray as we will get there in Jesus name!

I’ll end with this scripture which I think sums up why we don’t have any choice but forgive people. Have a lovely Sunday, don’t forget to bless someone with a couple of smiles today.

“Where is the god who can compare with you— wiping the slate clean of guilt, Turning a blind eye, a deaf ear, to the past sins of your purged and precious people? You don’t nurse your anger and don’t stay angry long, for mercy is your specialty. That’s what you love most. And compassion is on its way to us. You’ll stamp out our wrongdoing. You’ll sink our sins to the bottom of the ocean. You’ll stay true to your word to Father Jacob and continue the compassion you showed Grandfather Abraham— Everything you promised our ancestors from a long time ago.”
(Micah‬ ‭7‬:‭18-20‬ MSG)
