Boomeranging anger

The Bible doesn’t tell us that we shouldn’t feel angry, but it points out that it is important to handle our anger properly.
If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships. If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within.

Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a way that builds relationships rather than destroys them.
If we nurse our anger, we will give Satan an opportunity to divide us.

Are you angry with someone right now? What can you do to resolve your differences? Don’t let the day end before you begin to work on mending your relationship. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, (Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬ NLT)

The above is from today’s Life application Bible Study Devotion (you can find it on YouVersion Bible app)

Anger is something I struggle with sometimes, you know how characters go red and steam comes out of their ears in cartoons? That’s how I feel sometimes.
When I’m angry, frustrated or sad, I write long epistles and when I say long I mean long! *covers face*
If you’ve ever gotten one from me, I sincerely apologise for that ( the length of the message and not the contents therein 😛 )

I’m working on not letting anger get the best of me by letting people know how their actions make me feel in a clear and precise manner; no sulking, no “you’re dead to me” comments/gestures, no cutting out of my life, no “evil Timi look”.

The bible says anger lies in the bosom of fools (Ecclesiastes 7:9) and I’d rather eat lots of “humble pie” (deservedly or not) than be in the league of fools.

I like how the Message version puts it, “Don’t be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head.”
(Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬ MSG)
Imagine if this was literal and you get a lump on your head for every time you go ballistic with anger! Hehehe lots of people will be walking with football sized lumps 🙂

I pray that God will give us grace and help us not let anger get the best of us.

Have a lovely evening and never forget your smile is a deadly weapon in disarming sadness, so use it at will 🙂

P.S I got a lovely surprise yesterday and I want y’all to shout for joy for me!!! My cabin biscuit arrived from Nigeria yesterday evening! Shoutout to Mr Bada for hooking this up 🙂

You know I had to powder milk it up! Yeeeahhh
