Thankful people can worship wholeheartedly. Gratitude opens our hearts to God’s peace and enables us to put on love. Discontented people constantly calculate what’s wrong with their lot in life.
To increase your thankfulness, take an inventory of all you have (including your relationships, memories, abilities, and family, as well as material possessions).
Use the inventory for prayers of gratitude.
On Sunday, before worship, quit rushing around; instead, take time to reflect on reasons for thanks. Declare Sunday as your “thanks, faith, and hope” day.
Celebrate God’s goodness to you, and ask in prayer for all your needs for the week ahead.
Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Culled from Life Application Bible Study Devotional
I remember as children, we had to take a certain medicine every sunday( I’ll have to call my mum for the name) I know we called it “Sunday Sunday medicine” hehehehe 😛
That’s the scene that flashed in my head when I read the above devotional yesterday, taking Sunday out as a day of thanksgiving. Sunday here being a random day and not fixed, Monday, Tuesday, any day you choose is fine 🙂
Taking “stock” and then thanking him for the great “profit”, the “losses” and future “goods”. The sales or is it shop analogy just made me it clear for me, so indulge me for a bit 🙂 .
Here goes ; your life is a shop filled with goods, goods you need, goods relevant for your “business” to prosper, expired goods, irrelevant goods etc.
Thanksgiving in this light is looking at your “shop” where you’ve come so far i.e quality of goods, amount of goods etc. knowing where you started from and where you’re at are far apart!
It’s falling on your knees and pouring out praise to God for being God in your life.
Thanksgiving is also looking at your failures, things you done wrong that should have “ended” you but God in His infinite mercy kept you! Hallelujah!!!
So today I challenge you to choose a specific day to pour out your thanks to this great God who’s done wondrous works in your life and see Him accept and respond to your act of worship.
Have a lovely day y’all and to my UK peeps happy bank holiday even though it’s raining cats, dogs, hippopotamus and a handful of meerkats! Hehehehe
We’re still smiling so make someone’s day by giving them your best smile.
