When I saw Sheila’s email nominating me for the one lovely blog award almost a month ago ( my procrastination knows no bounds! Pray for me) I was like oh no! Who am I? hehehehe. Thank you Sheila, I feel special 🙂
And with that funny opening, I’ll pretend like I was here just last week.
Hey quirkies!!!!! I have missed you all, yes especially you who doesn’t comment, like or share 🙂
Before I go into the beautiful never been shared 7 things about me, there are few rules which I need to state.
Rules for the award
- Thank the person who nominated you and link to that blog
- Share Seven things about yourself
- Nominate 15 bloggers you admire (or as many as you can think of!)
- Contact your bloggers to let them know that you’ve tagged them for the One Lovely Blog Award.
So let’s do this 🙂
1. I make a mean puff-puff!
I’m talking people ordering puff-puff for their occasions kinda mean 🙂 Almost a year ago I re-taught myself how to make puffy (that’s what I call them) and I have AllNigerianRecipes to thank for that. My puffy recipe has evolved from the basic yeast, nutmeg combo to Cinnamon, Allspice, Vanilla, caramel infusions. I’m grateful to everyone who’s ordered my puffys, thank you for supporting my puff-puff empire dream *wipes lone tear*
Puff-Puff (a traditional African snack similar to a doughnut, click here for further details )
2. I have a scar on my right cheek.
My elder brother calls it “Ibadan mark”. I recently asked my mum how I got the scar not because I don’t know the story but just had this silly thing about parents making up stories ( don’t blame me after all the Gurumaraji and Super Eagles vs India stories )
So the story is, I was in the bathroom and instead of calling an adult after doing my business( I was 2 or so) I decided to be the independent woman I would grow up to be ( flicks hair hehehe) and climbed one of the stools in the bathroom, I got carried away(as children are wont to do), picked up my uncle’s shaving stick, you know those with the real razor blade? yup! Then proceeded to shave my “beards”.
Many screams, blood and tears later, we were in the hospital. Mummy said there was a major blackout all over Lagos that day and the doctors had to stitch the cut using kerosene lamp( lantern)
Fun-Fact : I have an identical scar inside my left cheek, how? I don’t know.
3. I have a fear of falling down the stairs and dying (-_-)
This fear stems from my Acrophobia ( fear of heights) and it’s become intense over the past few months. Walking down stairs of any sorts is a major adventure for me 😦
Sadly, falling down the stairs at Mornington Crescent station a few months ago does not help! I understood the phrase ” My life flashed before my eyes” A sprained ankle, few bruises and dented pride later, I take extra precaution going down any form of stairs!
4. I laugh a LOT.
Believe me when I say a LOT!! I’m thankful I’m able to “infect” people with my laughter disease. I’m thinking about documenting the number times I laugh a day 🙂 I’m sure I’ll be able to come up with an average weekly figure. What do you think about that?
5 I have déjàvu moments everyday.
It’s so surreal. I have this thing where if I learn something new/ talk extensively about something, give it 24 hours and it’ll pop up in my life. I get shivers when it happens and when I learn something new, I can’t wait for that feeling. It’s exhilarating!
6. I love emoticons and exclamation marks !!!!!!
Obviously used responsibly, not those any and everywhere 🙂 ( see how I subtly put that one there?)
7. I have a thing for LOVE.
I mean the “make me smile at odd times”, “twist my hair till it’s all matted and hard to detangle” 😛 love.
And no it doesn’t have to be me in love, I love seeing couples giving each other googly eyes ( sometimes it’s sickening and yes it might be linked to a cheeky monster of the green colour palette on my shoulder 😛 ) So I know you’re wondering but won’t ask so let me put it out there; yes I am SINGLE!!
That’s it!!! Phew!! I don’t know why this took me almost a month to write…
I’d like to thank WordsBySheila again for the nomination, I’ll go ahead with my own special nominations *clears throat* DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!
- Certified Son of God
