Life’s little rainbows

Children delight in rainbows. They want to follow a rainbow to its end or run and jump through it if it appears in a spray of water. We tell children the story of Noah, and how God’s rainbow became a sign of God’s lasting promise that he will never again send a flood to destory life on earth.

God doesn’t always seal his promises with a visual sign; sometimes we see God’s promises reflected in other ways.

Consider Becky, a single mom with two toddler girls. She received no child support or other assistance from her ex-husband, and while Becky had a hard time making ends meet, somehow they managed.

When the week’s groceries ran out a day early, a friend brought over a pizza. When she needed to pay a doctor’s bill, her tax refund came a month early. When it looked as though her week’s vacation would be spent at home with her two girls, a couple from church offered to let them stay in their cottage.

What rainbows do you see? Where do you witness God’s faithfulness to you? Look for it in the small needs he meets at just the right time. Credit his goodness when good fortune comes your way.

God, thank you for the rainbows in my life, for the times you showed up when I was on the verge of giving up.
Thank you for the little rainbows that pop up after the stormy weathers in my life.

I started the above plan on YouVersion Bible App a few days ago and it blessed me. I decided to share it and hope it encourages someone the way it did me.

2014 was filled with storms and when I thought I’d get respite from them, another reared its head a few days into 2015. To say I was drained will be an understatement but in all of this “mini storm”, I can boldly say rainbows in form of people, acts and words kept popping up, reminding me of God’s many promises.

I am aware 2015 will not be free of storms, worry, troubles etc. but I know that God will be our calm, help and send daily reminders of His presence. So I’m encouraging myself and someone who needs to hear this; “don’t worry, God will always send you rainbows”.

Have a blessed week and always remember your smile is the best thing about someone’s day so SMILE a bit more this week 🙂
I’ll leave you with this tune by one of my favourite gospel artistes, here’s SMILE by Kirk Franklin. enjoy 🙂
