For all the things you have done
Every morning rose the sun.
Off to work you would go.
At home love to us you show.
For all the sacrifices you have made
Keeping us warm when you were in the shade.
So many things I have put you through
So many things I wish I could undo.
To you I owe my life
For you have sacrificed
All your dreams and hopes
To help me fly and be my support rope.
Without you I wouldn’t know what to do
But this I know is absolutely true
Mother, Mom, Ma I love you
– Candice M. Stebbins
A Mother’s Love
A mother’s love is something
That no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
And of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
And enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away…
It is patient and forgiving
When all others are forsaking.
And it never fails or falters
Even though the heart is breaking…
It believes beyond believing
When the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
Of the rarest, brightest gems…
It is far beyond defining.
It defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
Like the mysteries of Creation…
A many splendored miracle
Man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
Of God’s tender guiding hand.

Today’s post was created while I was YouTube searching, watching how to get away with murder, and sorting out my outfit for church. Did I hear someone say multitask Queen? Woot Woot!! Hehehehe 😛
So today is mother’s day in the UK and most parts of the world, May 10th for my American peeps. Mother’s day is a day mothers/wives/partners/women are celebrated. Cards; both handmade and store-bought, we love handmade ones by the way they ooze LOVE! But I digress…
I chose to go with the poems above as they resonate with the word (SACRIFICE) that created today’s post.Every day the women in our lives makes sacrifices without giving second thoughts and today’s post is dedicated to each one of these women.
Mummy, I want to thank you for being my example, I’m glad we had that talk so many years ago because I wouldn’t trade my current relationship with you for anything in the world.
You have shown me how to persevere, fall to my knees when in doubt and how not to give up no matter what life throws my way. Thank you for your sacrifices, prayers, scolding and unconditional love. I love you today, tomorrow and forever. Thank you for being my mummy and friend. Happy Mother’s Day to the Queen of my heart!
I also want to celebrate the mothers I have been blessed to know; Omobolu, Adebimpe, Nneka, Tolulope, Olaoluwa, Ese, Oluwatoyin, Akudo, Adeola, Mofe. I love you all and God bless you.
Finally to every female I know (mother or not) seeing as I fall in this category, I want you to know that I love you and you are a wonderful woman.
Happy Mother’s Day again people and don’t forget to show someone love TODAY and most especially ALWAYS.
I’ll leave you with this beautiful song; Mummy mi by WizKid. Enjoy 🙂
